CONGRESS NEWS

 

 

In October ”Katecheta” will have been present in our lives for 50 years. This magazine about catechetics and religious education has been published by Drukarnia i Księgarnia Sw. Wojciecha in Poznań since 1957. Its first editor was priest Prof Marian Finke, one of the best-known catechists and pedagogic teachers of the 20^th century. ”Katecheta” has been – and still is – the only national catechetic magazine. It is well-known all over the country and beyond.

The above mentioned facts are the reason for the National Catechetic Congress which is going to take place on September 25^th – 26^th, 2007. the Congress is organised by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań and the Section of Catechetics Teachers as well as by Drukarnia i Księgarnia św. Wojciecha. The title of the Congress is ”Between Tradition and the Present Day”. The invited lecturers are: Brother Prof Herman Lombaerts FSC (the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium), Brother Marek of Taizé and Prof Martin Jäggle (the University of Vienna).

 

1.The first catechetic magazine in Poland has been created here and for 50 years it has been published educating, forming, informing, creating and interfering the shape of Polish catechetics (regardless the political tendencies).

2.For 50 years ”Katecheta” has no competitors in the country.

3.During the Congress we would like to look back into the history of Polish catechetics, the history of educating children, teenagers and adults; we would like to look at the present situation and show the ways of development.

 

We are honoured to invite: Catechetics and Theology Faculties workers from the whole country, catechists, Religious Education methodology teachers, Religious Education inspectors, authors of the articles published in ”Katecheta”, co-workers and friends of the magazine, readers and all those who are interested in taking part in the Congress sessions.
